Monday 27th July saw TRLD create their first industry event - a lighting shootout at LH2 Studios. Tired of the same old lighting exhibitions which seemed tired and falling out of favour, Tim Routledge decided to buck the trend and created the Summer Light Shootout.
This first event saw two types of fixtures being used for comparison - the latest in high powered moving spots and LED strobes. With a long waitlist of people that wanted to attend and an event totally organised by social media, the event represented huge value for money for all the manufacturers that got involved. With the latest equipment from Clay Paky, Robe, Martin by Harman, High End, Philips Varilite, TMB, SGM and PRG there was an awful lot of kit for the guests to get hands on with.
The event was created for lighting suppliers
Following a 30 minute presentation from Tim, the guests were then invited to go to one of 4 identical zones each with a different control system so they could shoot out for themselves. The show also featured the world premiere of the new Clay Paky Scenius as well as the launch of the new Robe Patt 2013 fixture designed by Tim Routledge.
The event finished with a Hog Roast and a free bar supported by Ambersphere to add a real social feel to the event.
Manufacturers and guests have all raved about how useful the event was and we look forward to presenting the next event in January with some additions to the event and lots of constructive advice from our guests taken into account to make it even more successful.
