Tim Routledge Lighting Design was contacted by video design gurus, Projection Artworks, to design the lighting for a huge project on the roof of the o2. Designed to compliment the epic scale of their 3D Projection mapping for o2's #weartherose campaign, 144 moving lights were rigged high above the o2's canvas roof to create a stunning projection over the roof.
96 SGM G-spots were used to wash the canvas with petal like shapes that could change colour to match the projections, these lights are the only fully waterproof moving lights in the world and required no weather proofing. 48 Clay Paky Mythos were also deployed at the base of each of the 12 iconic yellow masts to internally light the masts and also provide search light effects into the sky. Projection Artworks used 68 Projectors to create the seamless projection with 44 of them housed at the very top of the masts - over 100m above ground.
Programmed for TRLD by Jonathan Rouse, the lighting is now in situe until the end of October 2015 and messages of support to the England Rugby Team can be projected onto the roof by simply tweeting your message with #weartherose.
